Benson Boone‘s “Beautiful Things” has been named the 2024 top-selling single in the world by IFPI, the global recorded-music industry trade organization. In addition to earning the IFPI Global Single Award, Boone was also recognized as Variety’s Hitmakers Newcomer of the Year alongside Shaboozey, whose crossover smash hit, “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” came in at No. 5 on IFPI’s top-selling singles. “We are delighted to present the IFPI Global Single Award to Benson Boone,” says IFPI CEO Victoria Oakley. “As a global breakout artist, this is an amazing achievement to produce a truly worldwide hit.” Sabrina Carpenter‘s “Espresso” and Teddy Swims‘ “Lose Control” were ranked at No. 2 and No. 3 respectively. Each of the IFPI’s top three tracks (and four of the top five) came from artists making their debut appearance in an IFPI Global Chart, while nine of the Top 10 spots were claimed by U.S. artists, with the exception being Hozier’s “Too Sweet” at No. 6.
