During a recent session on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge, Lucy Dacus delivered a moody, stripped-down rendition of Lady Gaga’s smash hit single, “Abracadabra.” The boygenius star’s cover caught the attention of Mother Monster herself, and Gaga praised Dacus’ version for capturing the song’s essence. “😭I LOVE this so much wow captures the purity of the song,” the 14-time Grammy winner wrote in the comments of a TikTok video clip of the performance shared on Tuesday (April 1). Dacus was deeply moved that Gaga responded so positively to her performance, and proudly shared a screenshot photo of their interaction on X on Wednesday while tweeting, “I’m shaking.” Dacus just released her new solo record, Forever Is A Feeling, on Friday (March 28), and is set to start her US tour in support of the album on April 16 in Philadelphia. Gaga, meanwhile, just featured 32 Little Monsters in a special fan recreation of the “Abracadabra” music video, directed by Parris Goebel, who helmed the original clip. (People)
